Piedmont is just one of 20 regions of modern-day Italy. This region, which hosts 4.5 million people, is the first capital city and almost an industrial area for Italy, together with its central Turin. Many well-established automotive factories such as IVECO and FIAT are located here. At the same time, the big coffee giant Lavazza and Juventus, which has an important place for football, are among the great and deep-rooted values of Turin.

Cannes • Eolia Eda

Since we're talking about Cannes, Eolia, who's our beloved friend that lives in the French Riviera (you can find her guide for Nice in this issue of the magazine), also recommended us a few places to go there as well

“I love Cannes. But to be honest, there are not many things to do, unless you live there. Of course in summer, you can't compare it's sandy beaches to anywhere else. There are many beaches you can go along “La croisette” which is the name of the coastline in Cannes.

You can visit the old town, Le Suquet, there are cute little cafes and souvenir shops. This neighborhood is on a hill, and there is a church right on top, called Église Notre-Dame-d'Esperance, a gothic church. I visited this church many times, it's definitely worth it. And you can get a 360-degree panorama of Cannes from here. The sunsets from here are beautiful as well.

For dinner, I'd recommend staying in this area, since the ambiance is quite charming. But you can also go back to “La Croisette” and have your dinner there.

During the film festival, they were screening films on the beach, for free. It was called « Cinema de la plage ». I've been to Cannes during the festival a couple times, expecting that I'd see someone famous. But I never did. I think you should be at the right place at the right time. But a few of my friends saw Kristen Stewart, from the screen on the red carpet tho.

You can end the night in Baoli. It's a night club that « bougie » people go. Omg the dresses that the girls wear! I've only been to that club once so far. But I've met so many interesting people in one night. A Russian man (sitting with his girlfriend) opened up a bottle of Dom Pérignon for me and my friends. I was shocked. We didn't share anything that night. Other than that, the music is quite good as well. It's mostly techno and house, and at one point, a “singer” came and he was performing live, sitting on the Dj's cabin, the lights on the floor, the mirrors, reflections on the ceiling, it was quite trippy. It was crazy for me to watch all the serious business man during the day, get drunk (or something else) and dance real close with everyone during the evening.
